Solstice & Synergy
Solstice & Synergy is the playlist that helped me welcome in the new year, & I wanted to share it in the hopes that it brings some warmth & dancing to you this winter!
"Misty" by Caamp & "Soldier, Poet, King" by The Oh Hellos played driving by the lake on my way to take the dog for a freezing swim.
It was the soundtrack as I organized & packed for a snowflake exchange for children & families at my work ("Heart Attack" by Wild Rivers & "Time After Time" by Iron & Wine).
"Levitating" by Dua Lipa & DaBaby was discovered thanks to CBS Sunday Morning. If you don't know her, you should check her out. Dua Lipa has an amazing story.
It created the atmosphere for a night in complete with homemade pizza & drinks because what is date night during COVID-19 ("Loving Is Easy" by Rex Orange County, "I'll Be There" by Walk Off the Earth, "Break My Heart" by Dua Lipa, & "Safe House" by Feather).
It kept me company driving to & from the nursing home for window visits with my grandma during Christmas week ("Lucy" by Bryce Fox & "Honeybody" by Kishi Bashi).
Over the holiday, my family watched The Wilds, Amazon's Original Series, & Shzama helped recognize songs like "Pretty Waste" by BONES UK, "Bom Intro/Pass The Dutch" by Missy Elliott, "Sway" by Ceraadi, "God Flex" by Tedashii & Trip Lee, "Girl Blunt" by Leikeli47, & "Me and the Devil" by Soap&Skin for the playlist. The show is a fictional story about just how powerful & cohesive women can be, & the music selection certainly reflects that.
"Running With The Wolves" by AURORA is an old favorite featured in Wolfwalkers on Apple TV+, the choice for our New Year's Eve movie. & of course, we rang in the New Year with "Auld Lang Syne" by Denmark + Winter.
